State recognizes Correctional Professionals Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — It is Correctional Professionals Week in The Volunteer State.

The week was proclaimed by Gov. Bill Lee, according to a news release from the Department of Correction.

May 3 through May 9 will recognize correctional professionals for the role they have in keeping people safe.

The release says there are over 6,000 employees working in prisons across the state.
