HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Marching bands, roller skaters, beauty queens and even small kids sitting on pigs, were all on display during the Strawberry Festival’s Grand Floats Parade. “It’s lot of great fellowship and food,” Mark White, a first-time parade attendee, said. Thousands of people from all over Tennessee were out at the festival, and despite the threat of rain, many said they wouldn’t have missed it unless it were canceled. “I was going to come anyway,” Jackson resident Sherry Cook said. The parade, a 76 year tradition, has been canceled before because of rain. Although there was no sunshine in sight this year, those who attended said they’re just glad they were able to enjoy the festivities, rain-free. Strawberry Festival activities will continue through the weekend, ending May 10.
