DOWNTOWN JACKSON — The Madison County Juvenile Court services system is looking for a few local companies willing help teach some teens life lessons. The program offers the teens who have had dealings with the court the opportunity to work 30 hours a week. The program has 40 participants right now, but only half of them are placed with a company. The jobs start on June 2 and lasts through July 26. Juvenile court judge Christy Little says they are ready to do whatever they can to help the teens succeed. “Certainly we want them to learn discipline that they have to be there, they have to be there dressed appropriately,” Little said. “If there’s some certain requirement for the employer, we’ll see that child the has clothing…and has what they need.” Some of the companies that have signed up for the program are Black and Decker, Serra Chevrolet, the YMCA, the Humane Society, Madison County Parks and Recreation Companies interested in hiring a teen are encouraged to contact Amy Jones at Madison County Juvenile Court Services at 731-423-6140.
