EAST JACKSON — Police are hoping newly released surveillance footage will help catch two people accused of stealing nearly $29,000 of items. On May 21, police were called to the parking lot of the Comfort Inn on International Cove around 11:30 p.m. in reference to a car burglary. Hotel surveillance footage shows two black males drive into the parking lot, and one of the men is seen shattering the driver’s side window of another car and pulling items from it. They then placed the items in their car, described as an older model white Chevrolet pickup truck with body damage and black writing on both doors. According to the police report, the bed of the pickup truck was dirty and may be used in construction or lawn care. The victim says about $28,525 worth of items were taken from his car. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 731-424-TIPS
