Meeting Held to Discuss Issues Affecting Seniors

JACKSON, Tenn. – State Representative Jimmy Eldridge joined forces with the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability and the Southwest Tennessee Development District’s Area Agency on Aging and Disability to hold a luncheon, Frida, . The event addressed health issues affecting seniors and their families. Representatives from SWTDDAAAD and the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability presented information on community services and support programs available to seniors. Representative Eldridge,who also hosted the event, said events like these are important for seniors because of health care challenges. “It’s very complex for our senior citizens to go through this maze. So this is something that they can find out, and take information on how they can get a lot of help,” said Eldridge. Organizers of the event encouraged seniors to ask for help with their health care issues by contacting the District’s Agency on Aging.
