Jackson beauty school providing free services to cancer survivors

JACKSON, Tenn. — A local beauty school is giving back to the community on a day devoted to pampering cancer survivors. Empire Beauty School in Jackson will be offering a complimentary beauty service to men, women and children of any age on Cancer Survivor Beauty & Support Day this Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cancer Survivor Beauty & Support Day – or CSBSD – is a nationwide event that takes place every year on the first Tuesday in June. It’s a day intended to make all cancer survivors feel supported and appreciated, and to get a break from their daily worries. CSBSD has been recognized and acknowledged by several state and local governments, received an honorary proclamation in the House of Representatives and is supported by volunteers who work for hospitals, cancer clinics and cancer care organizations. The Empire Beauty School in Jackson is located at 1433 Hollywood Dr, Jackson, TN 38301. School officials say no appointment is needed.
