JACKSON, Tenn.- According to a study released today by the TBI, domestic violence rates have dropped in Tennessee. The report said this is the greatest year-to-year decrease. More than 200,000 domestic violence victims were reported between 2011 and 2013. Last year, the TBI said offenses dropped by close to six percent… while in 2012 calls decreased by about three percent. The director of WRAP, or the Wo/men’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program in Jackson said the report shows their work has not been in vain. “It means that the efforts that we have been putting forward as a community are working to address the issues of domestic violence in the home in the school in the community,” said Daryl Chansuthus, director of WRAP.
