PINSON, Tenn.-Pinson Mounds State Park is changing things up this year for its annual summer camps. But unlike in years past this year it is going to cost you. Officials at Pinson Mounds said some of their state grants have run out. So for the first time the park is charging a $25 fee to camp participants. Leaders said it will help pay for t-shirts, snacks and prizes. Rangers said a possible benefit of the added cost, parents may be more committed to bringing their children every day. “Get a lot of people that you know its free, you know maybe we’ll go, maybe we won’t, maybe we’ll show up everyday maybe we wont,” said Park Ranger Wesley Williams of Pinson Mounds State Park. This week the park is holding archaeology camp and next week starts Junior Rangers Camp. If you are interested in signing up for any of the events just click “Seen on 7”.
