Local organization selling barbecue to benefit veterans
NORTH JACKSON — A local group is raising funds for veterans in a tasty and appropriately southern way. The Veterans Day Program and the Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn Veterans Day Program Committee is selling half chickens and bologna by the pound to benefit the Veterans Welcome Home Event. Food must be pre-ordered. Those interested can place their order by contacting the Veterans Day Committee (731) 427-1271. Orders will be available for pick up on Friday, June 13 from 11-1 or 4-6 at the Old Hickory Mall in front of Sears.
