Case of teacher accused of child rape bound over to grand jury

CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — The case of a West Tennessee teacher and preacher accused of child rape was bound over the grand jury on Friday morning. Randy Hart, 46, is charged with aggravated statutory rape and solicitation of aggravated statutory rape after deputies say he contacted a minor through an online chat room and arranged a meeting with him in March. Hart was released on $50,000 bond. If indicted, he will be arraigned Nov. 3 at 8:30 a.m. in Chester County Circuit Court. Hart, a Scotts Hill High School teacher, has been suspended without pay since the investigation began in March. Chester County deputies are not ruling out the possibility of more victims. They are asking anyone who has had, or knows someone who has had inappropriate contact with Hart, give them a call at (731) 989-9066.
