Agencies Hosting Free Document Shredding Event

JACKSON, Tenn. – This weekend is the perfect time to get rid of old documents that may contain person information, for free. The Department of Commerce and Insurance and the Madison County Sheriff’s Department are hosting the event in an effort to lessen the risk of identity theft. The event runs from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Jackson Fairgrounds Park. There is a two box maximum per vehicle and a five-box maximum for businesses. Statistics show identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in the state.
