Carroll County Recieves $2.1 Million Grant

HUNTINGDON, Tenn. – A state grant is set get some help from a state grant that will help with infrastructure and the fight against child abuse. Governor Bill Haslam announced $2.1 million in block grant funding going to Huntingdon, McKenzie and Trezevant. Out of that money, $300,000 is set to be used to construct a 4,000 square foot Carl Perkins Child Advocacy Center to serve Carroll, Benton and Henry Counties. The facility will provide therapy, counseling services, parenting classes and a food bank. A half million dollars each will go to Huntingdon and McKenzie to help repair their sewer systems. Trezevant also received $492,078 for water system improvements. “One of the things that we want to do in government is target those areas that need our help the mos, and we want to be effictive with the tax dollars that are given to us. These are all funds that are targeted to basic needs,” said Governor Haslam. Local Parks and Recreation Fund grants were also announced for McKenzie, Huntingdon and Carroll County.
