Court documents: Holly Bobo suspect assaults correctional officers

CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn — Zachary Adams, one of the suspects charged with the kidnapping and murder of nursing student Holly Bobo, is now facing an additional charge. Adams was charged with assault after he allegedly attacked a correctional officer on June 13 inside the Chester County Jail, according to Chester County Clerk’s Office. According to court documents, a correctional officer overheard Adams make suicidal comments. Law enforcement decided to move Adams to a specialized cell so he could be monitored 24 hours a day. When officers attempted to move Adams, he allegedly resisted, jerked away from officers and struck them. Court documents also say officers had to deploy a chemical agent to control Adams, but he continued to resist. Documents say Adams also attempted to trip the officers three times. Adams had to be carried to the cell. Adams has been held at the Chester County Jail since his arrest. He has a new court date set for July 15 at 10 a.m.
