JACKSON, Tenn. – The owner of a former club in Jackson now wants to open his facility back up, but this time under a different name and with a different type of customer. William Diamond closed down Sharky’s about a year ago after multiple police calls to the bar. On Wednesday, he went before the beer board to seek approval of his new business called The Wingery. The council showed concern for the amount of police calls at night to the Hamilton Hills Parking Lot, but Diamond says this time around he isn’t going for a club or bar scene. He wants to keep it strictly a restaurant. The board approved Diamond’s request. “They’ve also in the last year installed security cameras all the entrances to the shopping center and also on the buildings that are lit up and flashing and that’s been a good deterrent,” said Diamond. The beer board approved the proposed name change on the business license.
