Police officer, author holds book signing in Downtown Jackson

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Brownsville author and police officer held a signing for his first book on Thursday. Joey Parker had copies of “If Good Men Do Nothing” at bookstore Something to Read. The book tells the story of two detectives trying to solve the murder of a young girl. Parker says some of the characters are based on his wife and kids. He also says he felt the need to encourage other families after one of his uncles was killed in a fight. Parker says he worked as an officer in Brownsville, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and now works as an officer at University of Memphis-Lambuth campus. The book can be found at Something to Read, Barnes and Noble and online.
