Burke’s employee accused of stealing money from store

PARIS, Tenn. — An employee of Burke’s outlet store in Paris has been stealing money from the company for nearly a year, according to investigators. Brandy Eighner, 22, was arrested after she admitted to police she made false returns and pocketed the cash to support a drug habit. In total, she had stolen more than $7,600 from the store. Store officials say Eighner had been stealing money from the company since October 2013. While Eighner was being booked, police also discovered methamphetamine and a glass meth pipe in her purse. Eighner was charged with with theft of property, simple possession of schedule II methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her court date was set for July 22 at 9 a.m.
