Jackson man charged with TennCare fraud
JACKSON, Tenn.-A Madison County man has been charged with TennCare fraud. The Office of Inspector General with the assistance of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department announced the arrest of Joe Ray Phelps, 54, of Jackson. Phelps was indicted by a Madison County grand jury and charged with fraudulently obtaining TennCare benefits to which he was not entitled. If convicted, Phelps could face a two-year sentence.
