One person airlifted after motorcycle accident on I-40

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — One person was airlifted to the hospital after a motorcycle accident on I-40 on Monday afternoon. According to the THP, a husband and wife were travelling westbound on I-40 near mile-marker 87 when their rear tire went flat, causing them to lose control and be thrown off the bike. One person was airlifted to a hospital and another was taken by ambulance. There is no word yet on the extent of their injures. Traffic on the westbound side of I-40 is moving slowly at the time of this writing. WBBJ will keep you updated as this story develops.
