Teen shooting suspect formally charged

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A teen accused of attempted murder appeared in court on Monday morning. Carlnelius Williams was arraigned in Jackson City Court on a charge of attempted 1st degree murder. Williams, 18, of Jackson, was arrested on July 18 in connection to a shooting on Tracewood Cove that left two people, including Williams, injured. His bond was set at $200,000 and is being held at Criminal Justice Complex awaiting his preliminary hearing on July 31 at 9:30 am. The shooting remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Jackson Police Department’s Major Crimes Bureau at 731-425-8400 or Crime Stoppers at 731-424-8477 (TIPS).
