DRESDEN, Tenn. — Dresden fire officials and volunteers spent most of Tuesday afternoon sifting through debris, looking for any sign of Lieutenant Josh Taylor’s wedding ring. “You know, you’ve heard of no man left behind,” said Chief Paul Hutcherson with the Dresden Fire Department. “We’ve been joking today no band left behind.” Lt. Taylor says he thought he’d put the ring in a safe place, before tackling a blaze on Monday night. “I took my wedding ring off. Put it in my pocket so I wouldn’t lose it,” said Lt. Taylor. “Come to find out, there was a hole in my pocket. So I lost the wedding ring.” Taylor’s wife Devin, says the situation could have been a lot worse. “Being a firefighter wife is hard first of all,” said Devin. “So if him losing his wedding ring is the worst thing to happen to us, I’m OK with it.” The loss of the ring couldn’t come at a worse time. This Sunday is Josh and Devin’s first wedding anniversary. But both of them are hopeful. “We’re planning on getting away for the weekend,” said Lt. Taylor. “Just the two of us and hopefully my wedding ring.” Overall, Devin says if the ring isn’t found they’ll just have to move on. “We’ll just go and get another one,” said Devin. “A ring can be replaced. It’s no big deal.” According Lieutenant Taylor, they will be back out again on Wednesday to searching again.
