Warrant out for woman indicted on elder abuse charge

HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A warrant is out for a former nursing home employee accused of elder abuse, according to Humboldt Police. Dion Sharda Martin, 25, was fired from her job at a local nursing home after allegations she was harming an 86-year-old patient were confirmed in May. Martin, of Humboldt, was indicted earlier this month for Knowing Physical Abuse and made bond of $25,000. She was scheduled to be arraigned in Humboldt Law Court on Monday, but failed to appear.
