North Jackson shooter still on the loose, police say

NORTH JACKSON — Police are searching for a suspect in a shooting on Wednesday that sent one man to the hospital. Around 9 p.m., police responded to a shots fired call in the area of Brianfield Cove, and received a second call that there was a gunshot victim on Tinkerhill Cove. The victim, a 21-year-old Jackson man, told police he was shot while leaving an apartment on Brianfield Cove and says then ran east to Tinkerhill to call for help. He was transported via ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound, and police say he remains in the hospital in stable condition. The shooter’s only description is a black man.
