“Sermon on the Mount” raises funds to help needy

WEST MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. – Close to a hundred people gathered at Snider Farms, Thursday night. They were there to witness the “Sermon on the Mount” by Dr. Lew Sterrett. Sterrett, an international speaker and horse trainer, “broke” a wild horse in front of the live audience. Throughout the process, he shared a Biblical message paralleling what people are witnessing in the horse. “This horse has all the things in its heart – the fear, doubt and ignorance – that we have,” he said. “You’re going to watch this horse make a change and see the beauty of a changed heart.” According to Sterrett, the horse he used was a wild mare from Oklahoma that he had driven to Madison County. He said she had never been ridden, never had a saddle put on her or even a rein put in her mouth. It took him about an hour and a half before she would allow someone to ride her. The event was a fundraiser benefiting the Three Sisters Fund, which helps three orphan teenage sisters go to school and pay for necessities.
