Teen shot while trying to break into home, deputies say

DENMARK, Tenn. — A teen has been released from the hospital and sent to juvenile detention center after deputies say he was shot while attempting to break into a home on Sunday morning. According to deputies, the 16-year-old threw a brick through a bathroom window at a home on the 1400 block of Denmark-Jackson Road. As he was climbing through the window, the homeowner shot at the teen, prompting him to run from home. While searching for suspects, deputies found the teen walking down the road with two gunshot wounds to his arm. He was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, and later transferred to the Juvenile Detention Center. The teen is charged with Aggravated Burglary, and an investigation into the other suspect is ongoing.
