Grand Jury indicts man in March deadly shooting

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man accused in a March murder was indicted by the Madison County Grand Jury on Monday afternoon. Ytockie Fuller was indicted for first-degree murder of the shooting death of Algernon “A.J.” Lloyd, Jr. Fuller, 38, remains in custody at the Madison County Jail with no bond and is scheduled to be arraigned next Monday in Madison County Circuit Court. On March 11 around 7:30 p.m., police were called about a car that had struck the porch at a house on the 200 block of East Forest Avenue. Officers discovered that Lloyd, 64, of Jackson, was the driver and only occupant. He had suffered a gunshot wound. Lloyd was transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Investigators learned that Lloyd was sitting in his car at a woman friend’s house on the 500 block of Greenwood Avenue. Fuller, who was the woman’s ex-boyfriend, drove up and approached Lloyd with a gun. Fuller then confronted Lloyd and shot him as Lloyd was attempting to leave. Lloyd drove away and traveled approximately a half-mile before crashing on East Forest Avenue. Fuller surrendered to Jackson police on March 13.
