EAST JACKSON — Wednesday was the first day back at school for teachers in the Jackson-Madison County School System. They have two days of in-service before students return for a half-day on Friday. We caught up with educators at North Parkway Middle School as they gear up for the new school year. “The strategies that we use in Read 180 hopefully they can back to their classrooms whether it be a science classroom and share with the kids,” Rose Priddy, a Read 180 teacher said. Different lectures on improving the learning of students, promoting literacy rates, and getting a head start on bumping up those TCAP scores were all a part of the day.
