One killed, one injured in McNairy County car accident

SELMER, Tenn. — A car accident killed one and injured another on Thursday morning around 10:30. Anita Whirley, 79, died from her injuries after an accident one mile west of Selmer. According to the preliminary report from THP, Whirley failed to yield at the intersection of U.S. Highway 64 and Moore School House Road, causing another driver to hit her car in the side. The other driver was injured, but WBBJ does not have an update on his condition. According to the preliminary THP report, both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
