Commissioners urge residents to take advantage of early voting

WEST JACKSON — Madison County Election Commissioners are reminding residents to participate in early voting while they still can. Last Monday, more than 1,000 residents voted. On Thursday afternoon, the county averaged just over 300 voters. The last day to vote early is Aug. 2, and Election Day is Aug. 7. Early voting will continue from 9-4 each on Friday and from 9-12 noon on Saturday. Voters must show a state of Tennessee or Federal ID in order to vote in person. The ID may be expired but it cannot be issued by any other state than Tennessee.
