EAST JACKSON — The search is still on for the second suspect named in a Sunday shooting that left a 21-year-old man dead. Investigators have signed a second-degree murder warrant for Dontavious Hendrix’s, 23, arrest. Hendrix is a black man, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 180 pounds. His last known address is in Lanecrest Apartments on Lane Avenue. He is also wanted on an outstanding attachment out of Madison County Juvenile Court for failure to comply with a court order. The other suspect in the shooting, Mondarrius Miller, 21, was arrested on Monday night and remains in custody at the Madison County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder. Around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, police were called about a shooting on the 2000 block of North Royal Street. Justin Williams, 20, of Jackson, was shot outside a residence. Williams was transported to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and pronounced dead. Investigators developed the case and determined that just prior to the shooting, Williams was outside talking to Hendrix and Miller. Shots were fired, and Hendrix and Miller ran from Williams and to a car. The two men then got in the car and sped away from the scene. The motive into the murder remains under investigation.
