Jackson man accused in beating is charged with attempted murder

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A Jackson man is behind bars accused of severely beating a man Friday night with a wooden plank. Jackson police say Mark Tiger was seen by witnesses beating the victim just after 9 p.m. on Whitehall Street. Tiger is charged with attempted second degree murder after investigators say they found the victim on the road bleeding. Officers say the wooden plank used in the attack was found nearby. The victim was taken to a Nashville hospital. Police were unable to update his condition Sunday afternoon. Tiger’s bond was set at $200,000.
