Victims’ names released in Brownsville shootings

HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn. — Authorities have released the names of the victims in two separate Sunday shootings in Brownsville that left one man dead. Jarvis Antawn Hines, 23, was found lying on the ground with several gunshot wounds near a residence on Young Street after police responded around 10:40 p.m. to a reported shooting, according to the Brownsville Police Department. Hines was was transported by EMS but was pronounced dead prior to arrival at the hospital. In a separate incident, police responded to a reported shooting around 10:20 p.m. on Thomas Street. They found Tereon Sintez Taylor, 22, inside a residence with a single gunshot wound to the pelvic area, according to police. Taylor was shot inside his residence from outside through a rear window, according to police. He was airlifted to the MED, and his condition is unknown at this time. Both of these incidents are currently under investigation. It is unclear of motive and if these two shootings are related, police have said.
