Jackson officials end partnership with Hinson company

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — City of Jackson officials have officially ended the city’s partnership with Hinson Auction and Real Estate Company. The Jackson City Council voted 7-to-1 Tuesday in favor of eliminating the contract between the city and the Hinson company. One person abstained. Ricky Hinson was charged last month after being accused of recording employees and customers with a secret camera inside a unisex bathroom. Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist said last month that the plan to end the contract was in motion before Hinson was charged. Hinson is scheduled to appear in court again Sept. 18.
