Woman killed after hitting 18-wheeler in McNairy Co. accident

McNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. — An Adamsville woman was killed in a Wednesday morning traffic accident near Selmer involving an SUV and an 18-wheeler, according to a THP report. Johnna Chappell, 30, was driving eastbound on Highway 64 two miles east of Selmer when she crossed into the emergency lane and struck the guard rail, according to the report. After over-correcting, Chappell drove over the median and into the westbound lanes, striking an 18-wheeler carrying steel. Chappell was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report. The driver of the tractor trailer was injured but was wearing his seat belt.
