Thousands Without Power in Crockett Co. Sunday Morning

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. – Thousands of residents in Crockett County were without power early Sunday morning. According to the Gibson Electric Membership Corporation, about 2,600 of their members’ homes and businesses were impacted by the outage for about 30 minutes. Gibson Electric officials said the Tennessee Valley Authority is constructing a new 161 kilovolt service, and the outage was required for their substation. Officials said the move will enhance service reliability for those impacted in the long run.
