DYER COUNTY, Tenn- The Dyer County Fair brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars, according to fair officials; and they said most of that is made in the final two days. “We need to have a big crowd on Friday and Saturday,” Eric Maupin, President of the Dyer Co. Fair Association said. “Friday is kids day and it’s the biggest day of the week for us.” Students are given the day off of school to attend. According to Maupin they are expecting to close to seven thousand by the end of the day. “It’s been really fun to get out of school and hang out with friends and ride awesome rides,” Mary Beth Baucom, a fair attendee said. Maupin said the bulk of the fair’s profit comes from the $5 to $10 dollar admission price. “When we make money it goes back into making the fair better,” he said. Officials said last year the fair brought out close to 100,000 people; and they are expecting even more this year.
