Jackson man faces kidnapping, car theft charges

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man accused of aggravated kidnapping and trying to strangle his ex-girlfriend was officially charged in a string of crimes Friday in Jackson City Court. Joshua Swift is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend earlier this week when she told him she wanted to break up, according to court papers. He also is charged with stealing her car and cell phone. Court papers show Swift also is charged in an August car theft, armed robbery and kidnapping. Swift remains jailed in lieu of $300,000 bond.
