MADISON COUNTY — The Jackson-Madison County School System kicked off its Tennessee Promise campaign on Friday. The initiative is a two-week campaign to challenge every high school senior in the school system to register for the Tennessee Promise. Tennessee Promise is the state program that offers two years of tuition-free community or technical college to Tennessee high school graduates beginning with the class of 2015, according to the program’s website. Students must sign up by or on Scholarship Saturday, which is Sept. 20. Every school with 100-percent participation will be eligible to win $5,000 in dual-enrollment funding.
