DOWNTOWN JACKSON — Fall is still weeks away, but allergy sufferers are already preparing for new cases of the sneezes and sniffles. Experts say there is no real way to avoid them if you plan to participate in outdoor activities. “We’re out in the elements,” said Fred Sesti, a family nurse practitioner at Regional Clinic in Jackson. “We’re going to be outside at ball games and events and fall festivals, so it’s very difficult to prevent that unless you just stay in the house with the windows closed.” He added that most allergens will be around till the first frost. Health experts are saying fall allergies can be as bad as spring and even worse for some. Ragweed and mold are expected to be the biggest problems.
