Man Accused Raping Child Multiple Times
BOLIVAR, Tenn- The Hardeman County Sheriff’s Department arrested John McKinnie of Bolivar on three counts of child rape at his home on Old Highway 64. The allegations have outraged the community. An affidavit from Hardeman County that contains graphic details of an alleged rape, of a then 9-year old girl and several others near McKinnie’s home that started about five years ago. Some in the community are worried that they could be living so close to a sex offender, while others are not sure the allegations are true. “When I found out what it was, I said he didn’t do this,” said Peggy Cheshire, a neighbor. McKinnie is being held in a Hardeman County Jail.
