Sheriff: Man stabbed more than 10 times by friend with pocket knife dies

MCNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn,–The McNairy County Sheriff’s Department says 28-year-old Bradley Cason died after being stabbed more than 10 times Wednesday night with a pocket knife. William Pickett, 27, is charged with second degree murder for his alleged involvement in the attack. According to McNairy County Sheriff Guy Buck, Pickett allegedly used a two-fold pocket knife that could be purchased at any gas station for around $2. Buck said the two men were friends. “We believe there could have been a relationship between our victim and our suspect’s sister,” he said. Investigators said the two men had been to a cookout together where they are believed to have been drinking heavily before the deadly fight. “There’s no doubt alcohol is a contributing factor. To what extent, I’m not 100 percent sure,” said Buck. This is the first homicide in Leapwood in more than 5 years, according to Sheriff Buck.
