Man faces robbery, aggravated assault charges after East Jackson incident

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A man accused of hitting another man in the head and then robbing him is behind bars. Antonio James is charged with aggravated assault and robbery. Court documents say James and the victim were with friends outside a house in East Jackson. Police say James hit the victim on the head, knocking him to the ground, and stole his wallet before taking a handgun from inside the home and firing it into the air three times. The victim also said James threatened to kill him if he reported the incident to the police. James is being held on $100,000 bond.
