HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — A missing Clarksville man was found dead Tuesday by Henry County deputies. Deputies found the body of Bobby Dozier, 80, Tuesday afternoon on Olde Tennessee Trail in Henry County. Captain Richard Steen with the Calloway County Sheriff’s Dept. said Dozier was reported missing around noon Monday by a close family member. Dozier was last seen Sunday at a lake house he owned at Kentucky Lake on Dunbar Road in New Concord, Ky., just north of Henry County, Steen said. The Calloway County Sheriff’s Dept. notified the Henry County Sheriff’s Dept., who were then able to trace the man’s cell phone, according to Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew. Deputies traced Dozier’s cell phone to the Tennessean Golf Club at 900 Olde Tennessee Trail in Springville, Belew said. Dozier’s car was later found at Progressive Baptist Church in Paris. “I was here Monday morning and one of our church members passed by and saw someone going through the car and she thought it was the owner of the car so she didn’t bother to stop her,” said Tom Sims, a member of Progressive Baptist Church. Sims said when they went into do church business Tuesday morning and still saw the parked Ford Escort they called the Sheriff’s Department. “You know crime can happen anywhere, but church is sacred and right now it’s not sacred to anyone,” said Sims. Dozier’s body was later found less than two miles from the golf club, Belew said. Steen said there was no sign of struggle at Dozier’s lake house and that he had no criminal history in Calloway County. Dozier’s dog was found on Port Road about 7 miles away from where the body was found, Belew said. The Henry Co. Sheriff’s Dept. currently has no suspects but are following a few leads, according to Belew. They will not release how the man died. The Henry County Sheriff’s Dept. is offering a “substantial reward” for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case. “Without the communities help, we wont be able to solve this crime. So, if you’ve seen anything, if you’ve heard anything please give us a call,” said Belew. Dozier’s body has been taken to the state crime lab in Nashville for an autopsy to determine an exact cause of death.
