First in series of health walks kicks off in downtown Jackson

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A series of health walks designed to improve the overall health of Jackson and coordinate with the governor’s plan for a healthier Tennessee kicked off Thursday morning. Utilizing the city’s new walking track at the “Lift”, the free to the public, “Don’t get blind-sided” walk saw around 30 people taking part. The event was designed to show residents spending two hours in the gym every day is not required to get a good start to a healthful lifestyle, but that “small strides” during a lunch break can make a difference.
