Bolivar police respond to four weekend shootings

BOLIVAR, Tenn. – Police in Bolivar have been busy. Officers responded to four “shots fired” calls between Friday and Monday morning, according to Police Chief Pat Baker. The most violent was Sunday night at Millennium Market. Chief Baker said two groups of people were shooting at one another from their vehicles. Police recovered 31 shell casings. It is unclear how many people were involved. One of the cars was a white Impala or Malibu. It was last seen on Sain Road. The other car was a gray Pontiac Grand Am. No arrests have been made. One injury was reported from an uninvolved bystander. Police said he was grazed by a bullet to the head. He was about 100 yards down the road at the Burger King. Bolivar police are requesting help identifying suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bolivar Police Department at (731) 658-4284. In addition, Chief Baker said officers have confiscated four firearms in the last five days from various locations in east Bolivar. It is unclear if the weapons are related to this case.
