Trooper Credited with Locating Missing OK Teen

HAYWOOD COUNTY, Tenn.- A Tennessee State Trooper is being credited with locating a missing juvenile during a traffic stop in Haywood County early Tuesday morning. The THP said around 1:20 a.m.,Trooper Phillip Long initiate a traffic stop on eastbound Interstate 40 on a car with a missing brake light, registered in Oklahoma. Trooper Long said he detected the odor of marijuana after speaking with the driver who said he and tow other females in the car were on their way to Connecticut. Further investigation revealed a female passenger in the backseat was listed as missing from Oklahoma. The juvenile was taken into the custody of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. The driver, Brandon Demanche, 18, of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Kaya Bohay were arrested. Both were charged with various drug-related offenses and for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. They were booked into the Haywood County jail.
