JACKSON, Tenn.- When a tour of duty is completed, military personnel often find transitioning into the civilian workforce, daunting. But a unique partnership between Memphis Bioworks Foundation and the Crockett Policy Institute will establish a network of support organizations, complete with databases and outreach programs to help veterans to find jobs in the renewable energy sector. Initially, the program will work with veterans and businesses in 18 rural West Tennessee counties. Officials said the effort will increase energy independence by promoting development of American-made energy. “Because of their experience their leadership skills their talent and their ability to stick with a job they are going to help us a s we jump start the economy of West Tennessee,” said Lt. General John Castellaw, USMC, (Ret.) “One half of one percent bore the burden of war. We owe them a god job when they come back.” Rural development business programs help local government and non-profit organizations improve local business infrastructure and promote job growth.
