U.S. Marshals mark 225 years of service

DOWNTOWN JACKSON, Tenn. — The nation’s oldest law enforcement agency, the U.S. marshals, celebrated 225 years of service Wednesday. Former Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Holt serves as U.S. marshal for the western district of Tennessee along with Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Eddie Laster from Scotts Hill. The Jackson office consists of four deputy U.S. marshals, three Jackson Police Department task force officers and one administrative assistant.
