Masked gunmen target 2 Brownsville businesses in less than 20 minutes

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — Brownsville police say masked gunmen robbed two businesses Friday night less than 20 minutes apart. Police say employees at the Dollar General were robbed by two men demanding money around 9:45 p.m. Investigators say the suspects fled after taking a cell phone and wallet. About 15 minutes later, the Four Way Market was robbed by suspects with similar descriptions as those reported in the Dollar General robbery. Police say the gunmen got away with about $700 in cash and checks from the registers of the market. Investigators say the same type of guns were used in both incidents. Police say suspects kept their faces covered with masks. The suspects are described as black men, both about 5 feet 6 inches tall. Investigators say one suspect has a slim build and is armed with a semi-automatic gun, while the other suspect is armed with a dark-colored revolver and has a heavier build. If you have information that can help the investigation, call Brownsville police at 731-772-1215 or Crime Stoppers at 731-772-CASH (2274).
