Police: Man traveled to Jackson from Miss. for sex with minor

WEST JACKSON — Jackson police have arrested a Mississippi man accused of traveling to Tennessee to have sex with a minor. Bryan Turner, 40, of Walnut, Miss., was arrested Monday accused of coming to the Old Hickory Mall to meet a boy he had been communicating with in an online chat room, according to a release from the Jackson Police Department. The department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force was notified Turner had been communicating with the boy, and later found Turner waiting for the boy in the food court at the mall. Turner is charged with solicitation of aggravated statutory rape. He is scheduled for a video arraignment at 8 a.m Tuesday in Jackson City Court. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
