Woman in court after alleged parking lot assault

DOWNTOWN JACKSON — A believed assault at the Lane Express Mart on College Street led to one woman’s appearance in court Wednesday. Witnesses say Chelsey Robin Williamson attacked a woman Oct. 1 in the parking lot of the store. Williamson allegedly hit the woman with a belt and her fists several times before police arrived. Williamson, a student at Lane College, had past troubles with the alleged victim’s friends. The victim left with injuries to her face, left eye and body. Williamson is being held on $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27 for a preliminary hearing.
